What to do in Fuerteventura Those that have not visited Fuerteventura always
ask "what can we do in Fuerteventura". Hopefully we will answer a few
questions on this page to ensure you will know what to expect during
your holiday in the Sun!
There is the
option of simply relaxing around the pool on the sun beds and
just chilling! Unlike most Villas in the Bel Air area, This
Luxury Villa has a 9 x 4 meter (heated optional) swimming
pool (not a small kidney shaped pool!) to take a dip, so there
really is no reason to leave the Villa!
Baku Water Park and Animal
Experience Fuerteventura
The Baku Water Park that
incorporates the Animal experience in Corralejo is very popular
with locals and tourists alike. Although not the largest water
park in Europe it has a variety of slides for toddlers to
elders.
The last time we visited we found that a family ticket can be
purchased and discount is given for those that purchase a ticket
for both the water park and animal experience.
From Black holes, Giant slides to seeing animals, including
goats and sea lions this really is a fantastic day out for all
the family.
Water Sports
Water Sports are
really in abundance on the Island of Fuerteventura. Including:
Windsurfing
Kite Surfing
Diving
Snorkelling
Deep Sea
Fishing
Sailing
Jet Skiing
Swimming
And of course
Surfing!
Take a trip to the Zoo
The Fuerteventura Zoo is in the
south of the Island and is a good one and a half hours drive
from Corralejo but well worth it. The organized trips would be
easier if you have not hired a car or do not like driving on the
right! Many animals and shows can be seen including Sea lions,
Parrots, Hippopotamus's Camels, Reptiles and of course the
Giraffes!
Take a Trip to Lanzarote
There are three ways to take a day
trip to Lanzarote. First is the ferry to Puerto del Carmen. This
is designed as a shopping trip for a few hours but benefits on
the return journey as a glass bottomed boat. The the abundance
of sea life can be seen through the
crystal clear waters from the
safety of the boat.
Secondly an organised trip to the
Timanfaya
National Park Lanzarote that still has an active Volcano. The
trip starts of with a ferry trip via
the
Naviera Armas
Ferry or the Fred
Olson Express Ferry.
Or thirdly, the cheapest option is to wander down to the harbour
and book your own tickets on the
ferry via
the
Naviera Armas
Ferryor the Fred Olson
Express Ferry, You can of course take your hire car over, but
please make sure you obtain permission to take your hire car to
other Islands in the Canary's as not all hire car companies
allow this. Do be careful as your insurance can be in-validated!
Visit the many Magnificent
Beaches Fuerteventura has 155 Beaches, the majority of which are
Golden
Sand as seen in these photographs. Above is one of the
beaches off the Corralejo Sand Dunes.
Below is El Cotillo beach that is a 25 km drive from
Villa Lauren. It is possible to catch a bus to the small
fishing village in the North West of the Island for a few Euros
return. There are not many places in Europe that can offer such
great Beaches as Fuerteventura!
